ODDI HAS PRODUCED SALTED FISH SINCE 1967
From the beginning, Oddi has operated a saltfish processing plant in Patreksfjörður and the company is i.a. established for that. With first-class raw material and a strong emphasis on quality control, Oddi has built trust and good business relationships with our customers that have lasted for a long time. Oddi´s focus in salted products has always been on stability and quality of our production.
OPO
OPO is the brand of salted fish products and is very well known for being a high quality product in salted fish markets abroad. Salted fish production is based almost exclusively on splitted cod, but ling is also processed.
THE PROCESS
Oddi's salted fish is processed the "old style", where the cod is splitted, pre-salted with injection and put in brine. Finally, it is pile-salted until it is packed. This is an old method that has developed through the years with increased technology resulting in an outstanding product.
